Facilitator: Joe Diana (CALIBRE) and Joe Dominguez (NCI)
Attending: Bill Robinson (TACG), Susan Oelsen (VA), Karla Ebert (MTS), Dennis Killian (IP Secure), Lee Witherow (Adjuvant), Jill Ross, Chuck Ludwig (Consultis); Dave McNeeley (Morse Consulting); Jim Marshall (Consultant); Nan Patton and Juan Toves (CSRA); Brian Carron (Peerless); John Goodwin (IIIInfo); Jay Roman and Nicole ONeal (Alion)
Joe Dominguez: Gave everyone a Fast Rope update. He encouraged everyone to update their profiles because the initial transfer of profiles from the old DECC portal was at a very high level. If you want teaming partners to find you, your profile needs to be complete. He also gave us an update to GovWin in regards to expanded organizational data, budget data, and employment data. He asked participants to consider taking the lead on an IDIQ vehicle for the newly created forum on the FR portal. The idea here is to capture some basic, useful information about each IDIQ and have it in one document for our members to reference when needed. I have a template and I’m looking for volunteers from our membership to prepare a slide on their company’s IDIQs. Goal is to have the consolidated slide deck ready for presentation at our March 2016 Fast Rope meeting. If you would like to prepare a slide on your company’s IDIQ, please contact me soonest. Lastly the San Antonio PTAC is having several training events to help small businesses.
Juan Toves: Attended the first Colorado Springs Fast Rope meeting.
Joe Diana: SA MICC is hosting a small business conference on 2 March.
Bill Robinson: Looking for teaming partners with medical quals. Also encouraged members to attend AFCEA TechNet Air symposium is 22-24 March 2016 at the Henry B Gonzales Convention Center (http://events.afcea.org/Air16/Public/Enter.aspx).
Susan Oelsen: She is coordinating a job fair on Mar 16th focused on cyber industry. She is looking for employers wanting to participate.
Dennis Killian: St. Mary’s has added a Masters program in cyber security. The program compliments the UTSA program. The St. Mary focus is more technically focused.
Jim Marshall: Participated in a Deltek seminar focused on GWACs. GWAC cycle is about every 5 years and this year represents a peak in opportunities to win a space as a prime. The gap between buyers and contracts is growing. The depressed rates created by LPTA environment is today’s baseline moving forward.
Lee Witherow: Adjuvant is coming out of 8a status looking for partners.
Nan Patton: Discussed the CSRA changes to their Defense Health business. She also invited FR members to participate in two of her charitable efforts. The Windcrest Lions Annual Pancake Breakfast is on Saturday, February 27th from 8-11 at the Windcrest Civic Center is 9310 Jim Seal Drive, Windcrest, TX. She also supports the Personal Energy Transportation (PET) effort http://petsanantonio.org/
John Goodwin: Information Innovators is looking to grow their use of Alliant and seeking work inside DHA via partnerships or new bids.
Jay Romano: Alion is active in the counter-UAV and UAV protection efforts. He also brought up an opportunity for local FR to support the Texas Youth Flight Experience Foundation.
Our next Fast Rope meeting is scheduled for 17 March 2016 at Mama’s Café.
