We currently have several positions open at Wright-Patterson including Database Engineer, Modeling and Sim Engineer, and Modeling and Sim Analyst.
Database Engineers will:
Provide identification of, assessment of, and recommendations on new technology opportunities and pathfinder projects that address Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) and simulator stakeholder needs. The Database Engineer will advance a SCARS testbed capability within AFRL and produce assessments and recommendations of suitable technologies for incorporation into the testbed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience
- Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively both oral and written
- Ability to attain/maintain Secret security clearance
Modeling and Simulation Engineers will:
Coordinate the Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) initiatives within the simulation and Open Architecture industries. The Modeling & Simulation Engineer will organize and conduct working groups, collaboration activities, and potential industry engagements to communicate, promote, and evolve SCARS initiatives and concepts. Establish an Air Force SCARS “presence” within the simulation community through regular interactions with the other Uniformed Services, industry, and academia. Coordinate on Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) activities such as Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) projects to advance SCARS technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Master’s Degree and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
- Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively both oral and written
- Ability to attain/maintain Secret security clearance
Modeling and Simulation Analysts will:
One of the Modeling & Simulation Analyst positions will provide recommended changes to Aerial Refueling Airplane Simulator Qualification (ARASQ) to support simulator qualification for aerial refueling training over the Mobility Air Forces (MAF) Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) network. Will meet with Air Force representatives to discuss ARASQ objectives and make changes accordingly. While the other will coordinate Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) initiatives within the simulation and Open Architecture industries. This M&S Analyst will organize and conduct working groups, collaboration activities, and potential industry engagements to communicate, promote, and evolve SCARS initiatives and concepts. Establish an Air Force SCARS “presence” within the simulation community through regular interactions with the other Uniformed Services, industry, and academia.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years or more of experience, Master’s Degree and three (3) years more experience, PhD and zero (0) years related experience
- Prior experience designing modeling and simulation environments for training
- Prior experience conducting analysis of alternatives
- Ability to attain/maintain Secret security clearance
